Our linguist lawyers translate texts for various leading national and international civil-law notaries and law firms. We have many years of experience translating legal texts. To serve our customers even better, we have a dedicated legal translation department – WTS Legal – with a team of specialised legal translators and correctors, who translate into their native language and have professional expertise and on-the-job experience. These translators and correctors generally have both language and law degrees, ensuring that the quality of your legal documents is preserved in the translated versions.

Procedure

In order to guarantee the highest level of quality, WTS Finance and WTS Legal work according to set procedures and guidelines. Our project coordinators always provide excellent customer service and are highly valued for their personal approach and rapid response times. They closely monitor deadlines to make sure these are adhered to and serve as your trusted company liaison. They would be more than happy to discuss your specific needs with respect to any translation assignment you might have.

Intake meeting:
If you so desire, we would be happy to sit down with you to discuss the details of a text to be translated. This intake meeting might cover such practical issues as specific jargon, house style, the availability of a terminology database and the desired delivery time.

Language consultancy:
This relates to all contact between WTS and its client. Some clients, for instance, provide a list of preferred terminology up front. If you do not have such a list, we can draw one up for you. Once a client approves the list, the translator will use it in all subsequent translations. Language consultancy prevents interpretive differences.

Evaluation:
If you so desire, we can provide you with a draft version of the translation to be checked and returned with comments. The translator will then process these comments and submit a final correction. We will then deliver the final version of the translation at the stipulated time.

They have a perfect command of their mother tongue and always keep their knowledge of the financial or legal sector up to date. They all work according to the WTS quality standards and are held to the strictest confidentiality.

Your financial or legal translation is done by a specialised native speaker. Then, it is checked for completeness, consistency and accuracy by a second native speaker with the same expertise, before being delivered to you, the customer. This is how we guarantee and maintain the high quality of our work. If needed, the translation can be sworn, based on all the available information.

WTS safeguards the quality of its translations by adhering strictly to a set procedure for every translating or interpreting assignment, no matter the scope or subject matter. This not only benefits the quality of the work, but also guarantees consistency in terms of language use and jargon.

Delivery time
WTS works with very strict deadlines and always delivers its translations by the stipulated time. The standard production time for a financial or legal translator is about 8,000 words a week (some 25 A4-sized pages), or 1,600 words a day (some 5 A4-sized pages). We can naturally expedite production by deploying multiple translators for a single assignment and would then deploy a single final editor to monitor the consistency of the language. Translated texts are always delivered by the stipulated time, as per agreement.
